Armenian American Mental Health Association (AAMHA) committees

As a member, you can become a vital part of our committees and helps us actualize our mission statement. Active participation not only provides you with the opportunity to connect with other mental health providers, but also gives you a chance to advocate for mental health in the Armenian community in Southern California!

The Association has four standing committees. Each of the committees is chaired and organized by a Board member. The members of these committees are volunteers from the general membership. To help a committee, a board member (or become one), please contact us!

Membership and Outreach

– Responsible for spreading information about AAMHA and its mission.
– Promote its programs and recruit members for the Association.
– Keep members informed regularly about scheduled events and activities of the Association through personal contact.

Education and Program

– Organize, train, and maintain educational activities for the members and the Armenian American community at large.
– Focus its efforts primarily on issues that have an effect on the Armenian American community’s culture and the process of adaptation.
– Oversee the delivery of CEUs, and facilitate the organization of conferences.

Social

– Plan, organize, and implement social events for the members to network and get to know each other.
– Create opportunities for the members to be informed about the goals and objectives of the organization.
– Coordinate sponsors for the events and seek donations for the continuation of the Association’s educational mission.

Website

– Update the website and social media platform with all relevant AAMHA information.
